SAVE THE DOLPHINS!!!!
23,000 dolphins are mercilessly slaughtered every September in one little cove in Taiji, Japan. The dolphins that escape slaughter are sent into captivity in places like Seaworld and other "swim with dolphin" foundations. Dolphins cannot live in captivity. To learn more go to www.takepart.com/thecove or watch the Academy Award winning documentary The Cove. WE NEED TO MAKE A CHANGE!

We're Planting a Tree!
Eco-Club has been granted permission to plant a tree on the Thurston campus! We are planning to locate it on the far left side of the field, behind the bleachers. This way it will provide shade for those resting after completing "The Mile." We are still researching types of trees but the ideal characteristics are a tree that grows quickly and does not need lots of water. If you have any suggestions let us know! Thanks!

The Real Green Challenge
Hey guys! There is a great website called www.carbonrally.com where you can enter in contests or challenges to make goals for yourself to become more eco-friendly. They are really easy and fun! What you do is just click on the link or type in the address and then when you get to the site press "Take a Challenge." There are tons to choose from and the site shows you what effect your challenge had on the environment and how much energy and money you saved! You can add yourself to the map with your parents permission, and boost the carbon-saving rate in your area as well! If you complete a task, post a comment and let us know!
